Intel Galileo Gen 2 Development Board - Java SDK

Starter Kit

by ThingWorx Labs

The Intel® Galileo Gen 2 development board is a microcontroller board based on the Intel Quark™ SoC X1000 application processor, a 32-bit Intel Pentium brand system on a chip (SoC). The Edge Java SDK distribution may be installed on the Intel Galileo, and this guide will follow the procedure for doing so. This guide will also demonstrate connecting an Intel Galileo to a live ThingWorx Platform.

The Java SDK is a powerful component of the ThingWorx architecture that allows for the rapid deployment of connections between the ThingWorx Platform and an associated data reporting Intel Galileo, with minimal design requirements on the part of the user.

The Java SDK provides an “always-on” connection to the Platform, and it opens a local web server that interacts with the REST API available on the Platform.

This document provides installation and usage instructions for setting up the Edge Java SDK with the Intel Galileo.
